Position through essaying

For this video essay, I wanted to explore the references that I found and their context as well as trying to position myself within. The video show printer in motion as well as printer going through the process of copying. I felt that it was important to have the printer present in this video as it is the *only* medium that I used during my studio practice for the Unit 02 so far. It also, at the and, represent the information being processed and (re)shaped. Moreover, the layout can seem a bit ‘chaotic’ but it is on purpose. This represent the way I feel about it all, the fact that I have a strong interest in all of these references and how, they overlap, interact, blend and connect. The idea of ‘simultaneity’ is also discards by this process. the overall visual aspect of the video is black and white, looking quite low-res sometimes. This is again in relation with the aesthetic of my principal medium, the printer/copier.

i wanted the printed format to link and resonate with the original video. Therefore, I used the same visual aesthetic. The publication unfold in the middle where I explain my position, it is like a discovery, it is the ‘answer’ to what has been exposed before.
